The AASA Race Series brings a full program of circuit racing to the historic Calder Park Raceway in Keilor North. This sixth round of the 2026 season features the TA2 Muscle Car Series, where the sight of Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers battling for position takes center stage. It is a form of motorsport that focuses on parity, meaning the results come down to the talent behind the wheel and the tactical decisions made in the pits. Spectators at Calder Park Raceway get a clear view of the action as the field works through the technical turns and fast straights. The TA2 category is known for its close-quarter racing, often resulting in packs of cars fighting for the same piece of tarmac throughout the day. Seeing these modern muscle cars pushed to their limits on one of Melbourne’s most recognizable tracks offers a genuine look at competitive, driver-focused racing. Mark your calendar for November 13-15, 2026, as the Hi-Tech Oils Super Series enters its final round. Further information regarding the full event schedule and entry details will be released as the race date draws closer.

Calder Park Raceway is one of Australia’s most storied motorsport facilities, located just outside of Melbourne in the suburb of Keilor North. Originally opened as a short sprint track in 1962, the venue expanded significantly under the ownership of legendary racer and businessman Bob Jane. It is perhaps most famous for the Thunderdome, a 1.8-kilometre high-banked tri-oval built in the late 1980s to bring American-style stock car racing, including NASCAR and AUSCAR, to Australian soil. The venue’s layout is unique, featuring several configurations including a traditional road circuit, a world-class drag strip, and the aforementioned oval. Over the decades, it has hosted a wide range of major events, from the Australian Grand Prix—notably including the first-ever round of the Formula One World Championship held in Australia in 1980—to the popular Off Street Drags which provide a legal environment for local car enthusiasts to test their vehicles. Today, Calder Park remains a vital hub for grassroots and professional motorsport in Victoria. While some parts of the facility have faced challenges over the years, it continues to serve as a primary location for drifting competitions, track days, and drag racing. Its proximity to the city and its long-standing history make it a sentimental favorite for generations of fans who grew up watching international stars compete on its diverse tracks.

Situated approximately 25 kilometers northwest of Melbourne's city centre, Calder Park Raceway is easily accessible via the Calder Freeway. Visitors traveling from the city should follow the M79 motorway directly to the venue entrance in Keilor North. Parking is available on-site within the grounds, though the specific parking areas can vary depending on whether the event is held on the drag strip, the road circuit, or within the Thunderdome area. It is advisable to check specific event details for the most convenient entry gate.
