Nestled in the Darling Downs region, Hi-Tec Speedway Toowoomba, historically known as Charlton Raceway, stands as one of Australia's premier dirt track venues. Since its inception, the circuit has built a reputation for high-octane excitement, characterized by its unique high-banked clay oval layout. This design allows for incredible cornering speeds, making it a favorite for both spectators and drivers who crave the adrenaline of side-by-side racing under the Queensland night sky.
The venue is a hub for major national and international events, frequently hosting rounds of the World Series Sprintcars and the prestigious Kings Royal for Modified Sedans. Fans flock to the track to see a diverse range of categories, from the roaring 900-horsepower Sprintcars to the agile Speedcars and V8 Dirt Modifieds. The 'Home of Champions' moniker is well-earned, as the track consistently tests the limits of the best dirt track racers in the country, offering a challenging surface that evolves throughout the night.
Beyond the on-track action, the Toowoomba Speedway provides a family-friendly atmosphere with extensive hillside viewing and grandstand seating. The facility’s commitment to providing a top-tier fan experience is evident in its amenities and the electric energy that fills the air during a feature race. Whether it's the roar of the engines or the smell of methanol in the air, a visit to this iconic QLD speedway is an essential experience for any Australian motorsport enthusiast.
