This event is a highlight for South Australian speedway fans, attracting a competitive field. The Australian Sprintcar Masters is one of the country's most storied Sprintcar races. It first ran in October 1985, staged across the Thursday and Friday nights of the inaugural Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix on the streets of Adelaide. For more than 30 years the Masters was held at Virginia (Speedway City), north of Adelaide, and with the closure of that venue the Murray Bridge team took the opportunity to revive it — returning the race to a South Australian track for the first time since 2016.

Originally opened in 1958 as Riverview Speedway, the Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway is one of Australia's most iconic dirt track venues. Situated just an hour east of Adelaide, the track was uniquely cut into the side of a hill, which provides spectators with an natural amphitheatre-style view of the entire 360-metre dolomite and clay oval. Over the decades, it has evolved from a small local track into a world-class facility that regularly hosts the biggest names in speedway racing, both from Australia and the United States. The venue is a hub for high-octane action, featuring a diverse range of categories including 410 Sprintcars, Super Sedans, Speedcars, Wingless Sprints, and Street Stocks. It is renowned for its high-speed racing and thick atmosphere, particularly during major annual fixtures like the World Series Sprintcars, the 'Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge', and the 'Ultimate Pink Night' breast cancer fundraiser. Beyond traditional racing, the speedway is famous for its massive Demolition Derbies, having multiple times attempted to break the world record for the most cars entered in a single event. Owned by the Murray Bridge Sporting Car Club and Motorcycle Club, the venue maintains a strong community focus with a family-friendly environment. Its reputation for a fast, multi-lane racing surface makes it a favorite among drivers, while the grassy spectator banks and modern amenities keep fans coming back season after season. Whether it is the roar of V8 engines or the spectacle of firework-filled championship nights, the speedway remains a pillar of South Australian motorsport culture.

The speedway is located approximately 66 kilometres from Adelaide. To get there, take the South Eastern Freeway toward Murray Bridge and exit toward the eastern side of the river. The venue is situated on Kennett Road. Ample public parking is available in the top car parks near the main entrance, with overflow parking often directed to the adjacent showgrounds during major events. For championship nights, courtesy buses frequently operate between the Bridgeport Hotel and the venue to assist with guest transport.
