Opened on February 11, 2006, the facility was built entirely by the South Coast Drag Racing Association, which continues to own and operate the site today. It holds the distinction of being the only permanent regional ANDRA-sanctioned drag racing track in Victoria, providing a dedicated space for competitors to test their limits on a professional-grade concrete surface. The venue is designed to accommodate a variety of drag racing disciplines, featuring a concrete racing surface that extends to 330 feet, complemented by a full track preparation using VHT JP1 traction compound. With a 450-meter braking area, including a gravel trap and catch nets, the track prioritizes safety while maintaining a competitive environment. The facility is well-equipped with electronic timing boards, infrared start sensors, and comprehensive pit lighting, ensuring that events can run smoothly from morning through to evening. Beyond the track itself, South Coast Raceway offers a welcoming atmosphere for both participants and spectators. The site includes clubrooms with bar and kitchen facilities, full catering options, and an expansive 8,000-square-meter pit area. Throughout the year, the venue hosts a diverse calendar of events, ranging from major national drag racing championships to local test-and-tune sessions and burnout competitions. It serves as a vital hub for the local motorsport community, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie in a unique setting where the track meets the ocean. ## Getting There The venue is located on Madeira Packet Road in South Portland, situated opposite Yarraman Park and the local go-kart track. Parking is available on-site within the facility grounds, providing convenient access to the pit area and spectator zones. ## Events at South Coast Raceway 0 No upcoming events at this venue yet. ### Past Events PAST ### Street Machine Drag Challenge 2026 (Day 2) Wed / 28 Oct South Coast Raceway https://racefy.co/events/street-machine-drag-challenge-2026-day-2-069c444d-3081-4072-b724-6e20e2fc96d1 Image: South Coast Raceway (https://base44.app/api/apps/69e59449d1ffd0028afbb22d/files/mp/public/69e59449d1ffd0028afbb22d/686201c53_327283120_683523036804505_3943645699644860199_n.webp) # South Coast Raceway Venue Portland, VIC, Australia 114 Madeira Packet Road, Portland West, VIC 3305, Australia ## About South Coast Raceway ## Getting There ## Events at South Coast Raceway 0 No upcoming events at this venue yet. ### Past Events PAST Wed / 28 Oct Image: Racefy (https://media.base44.com/images/public/69e59449d1ffd0028afbb22d/f3dc9772e_RacefyLogo.svg) Global motorsport community. ## Explore - All Events: https://racefy.co/events - Venues: https://racefy.co/venues - Categories: https://racefy.co/categories - Organisers: https://racefy.co/organisers ## Account - Sign In / Join: https://racefy.co/auth ## Promote - List Your Events: https://racefy.co/list-events - Partnerships & Advertising: https://racefy.co/advertise © 2026 Racefy Network.
